July 29-30th, 2006 - Blue Fuel Team Rides 21 Miles in Support of Organic Family Farming

Three Blue Fuel staffers toured 21 miles through the rolling hills of the Kickapoo Reserve on Saturday, as part of the Kickapoo Country Fair July 29-30th in La Farge, Wisconsin. “The landscape in the Kickapoo Reserve area and the entire Driftless region of Wisconsin makes this one of the most beautiful areas of our state and the perfect backdrop for the Kickapoo Country Fair Bike Tour,” said tour participant and Blue Fuel President Brian Smith.

Blue Fuel, sponsor of the Bike Tour and Heritage Sponsor of the fair, donated 250 organic cotton t-shirts which were given to event participants along with gift bags at registration. Blue Fuel caravanned to southwestern Wisconsin for the event hosted by their client, Organic Valley® Family of Farms, despite forecasted temperatures past the 90° mark for the weekend. The lively music, tasty food, and scenic tour were well worth the trip to the country.

The event’s aim is to cultivate our rich rural heritage and to promote the future of organic family farming in Wisconsin. “Blue Fuel Marketing is proud to help bring together thousands of people from both rural and urban areas for a celebration of sustainable living, rural communities, the American Farmer, Music, Dance, Arts, Natural and Organic Foods, Green Housing and Renewable Energy, Community Health and Education, Environmental Responsibility, Children and Parenting, and Eco-Development,” said Smith.

January, 2006 - Blue Fuel Marketing, Inc. Recognized for Creative Direct Mail Campaign

Blue Fuel Marketing took “Practice What You Preach” to new heights when they launched their own multi-step, multi-faceted self promotion direct mail campaign, such that they turned the heads of the editors of The Counselor, the most highly circulated news magazine in the promotional products industry.

“Any promotional marketing company out there can say they are creative,” says Vice President Karen Tooley, “but we took it a step further to SHOW we are creative…well, actually, many steps further.” The unique campaign included eight touches per prospective client, creatively blending phone calls, flat mail and dimensional mail with customized promotional products included. An overall theme was carried throughout and recipients were encouraged to decipher the theme before it was revealed at the end. Blue Fuel managed every aspect of their campaign – creative, copywriting, production, fulfillment and mailing. Said Ms. Tooley, “By giving our prospects a tangible example of our creativity, capabilities and objective-based marketing, we demonstrated we are far more than just a place to buy logo’d pens and made the recipients’ decisions to meet with us easy.”

“The success of this campaign has been overwhelming,” said President Brian Smith, “such that we had to slow down and cut back on the campaign to keep up with the response. We already knew we had an incredible success rate once we could get in the door, but this campaign helped open even more doors than we had imagined and gave us a living testimonial of the same techniques we can apply to our clients.”

According to The Counselor, “The creativity of this campaign and its measurable results made Blue Fuel stand out amongst its competitors as a truly innovative promotional marketing company that is revolutionizing the future of this industry.”

After months of research, testing and refinement, we are confident of success.”

March, 2005 - Blue Fuel Marketing expanding operations to handle new clients

An exclusive multiyear contract to handle all promotional merchandising and uniforms for Batteries Plus, the world’s largest battery chain, has Blue Fuel Marketing, Inc. of Brookfield, WI ramping up its operations.

To service Batteries Plus and its existing clients, the merchandising agency is expanding its Brookfield office and has added a distribution center in Waukesha.

"Behind the deal," said Blue Fuel Marketing co-founder and Vice President Karen Tooley, "is Blue Fuel’s broad range of merchandise expertise, from promotional products for Franchisee’s and customers to corporate goods for employee incentives."

Tooley decline to disclose the terms of the deal but went on to state that, “the past two years have been especially gratifying for Blue Fuel. A hyper competitive landscape within the promotional products market has seen demand for promotional merchandise decrease and margin pressure increase. Blue Fuel Marketing was formed to be an industry leader in the design, development and administration of promotional campaigns for these times and the years ahead. As a forward looking organization, we recognize the necessity to evolve our internal product mix, our capabilities, our systems and our facilities. We undertook an ambitious mission in 2004 to accelerate new client growth, while seamlessly servicing our loyal clients. In 2005, that strategy will continue with several key improvements planned.”

May, 2004 – Blue Fuel Marketing Recognized as One of the Top 20 Up-and-Comers

In a special 50th anniversary edition issued this month, the editors of The Counselor, the most highly circulated news magazine in the promotional products industry, gazed into their crystal ball for a look at the future of this $16.1 billion-a-year industry.

What they saw was a local company that is making big noise by bucking the status quo with a new vision and palpable creativity. “It’s instantly obvious that Blue Fuel Marketing is passionate about the promotional products industry and that passion is reflected in the success they have achieved in such a short time.” According to The Counselor, “They can also be stubborn, willful and so devoted to their vision that they don’t take no for an answer and refuse to be confined by limitations – their own or anyone else’s. It’s a tough bill to fill, for sure, but Blue Fuel Marketing is definitely one of the industry firms that is providing the impetus behind the industry’s most exciting innovations.”

How do they do it? Blue Fuel Marketing sums it up this way: “We have the ability to select, nurture and prepare individuals who wish to make a difference in this industry and in our clients’ businesses. We consider ourselves lucky to be surrounded by great people who collectively make remarkable things happen.”
